being kiasu idiots, daryl n i met at ps at abt 5.30pm to da bao some mac n made our way to fort canning park early. upon reaching the archway where the barrier was set up, we were already greeted with a crowd of slipknot fans. it wasn't too hard to identify them with their slipknot tees or heavy metal band tees. and abt 95% of them were wearing black. haha. it was then we realised how noob we were. ok so we sat down at the pavement along with the crowd n wolfed down our burgers so we could be rid of the plastic bags quickly as we watch more ppl streaming in. there was this sad t-shirt booth at the side but the t-shirts were relli ex. sigh. i had actually brought money to spend but decided not to in the end cos it was relli too ex. prolly buy them from inokii or sth.
ok by the time they started letting ppl in was probably ard... say, 6.15pm? yeah then the whole crowd chionged to the entrance. but the process was REALLY slow. den there was this bunch of bikers who kept squeezing thru the crowd intot he venue. damn irritating. den daryl's bro n hir fren came. haha. his fren oso made one joey mask. quite funny. ok den this mini merc limo came cutting thru the crowd again. this time it was filled with the driver n one other guy with a video cam. we being the noobs din recognise him for hu he relli was until someone ahead shouted "SID!" haha walao how cool la. den we queued again... den 2 merc vans came cutting thru again, this time filled with the band! budden they were all unmasked so it was quite difficult to tell hu was hu so there wasnt much hoo-ha. (someone identified corey tho). by the time we got in it was already abt 7.10pm.
den the stage was set at the foot of the gentle slope with these yellow railings ard the front of the stage, acting as barriers to divide the $100 crowd from the $60 crowd. (imagine an elongated semi-circle at the front of the stage). then within tt barrier right at the front was the crazy $150 crowd. haha. so me n daryl managed to find a space on the barrier tt wasn't occupied near the back but we could stand on the things so we had a pretty decent view of the stage. as we waited we could hear music playing. stuff like guns n roses, chemical romance (i think) n another daryl identified as the slayers. nice music. n everytime the music stopped or someone came on stage to fix/set-up the equipment everyone would start chanting "SLIPKNOT!" haha. den alot of time they test this test that den we all thought it was gona start but all fake. until the music suddenly stopped halfway thru a song.
a recording of Prelude 3.0 started playing n tt was when the chaos was abt to begin. (u see the turn-out was fairly sad so like 2/3 of the space in the $100 barrier was unoccupied). so, when the music began, the barrier started shaking. yeah. shake shake shake den it finaly gave way n everyone poured in on the other side of the pit. at our side, the barrier was still nicely intact. den the organisers got quite pissed and conincidentally or not (they claimed it was a techinical fault), the music stopped. den the organisers had torchlights our den began checking the barriers n stuff. den after awhile the intro began again. just as i was abt to get into the mood, daryl tapped me n motioned me to move forward. haha. luckily he spotted a defeated barrier further up on our side so we managed to sneak into the $100 area!!! muahaha.
ok well den SlipKnoT started playing all their amazing songs. n all the time we were inching forward haha.
its a pity most of the songs they played were from their previous albums tho. so i couldn't relli appreciate them tt well cos i havent heard them yet =S haha. but it was crazy all the same.
thing tt spoilt some parts for me was this bunch of drunk bastards hu were pushing, seriously PUSHING each other abt for god noes why. den it was super irritating. n it always coincidentally happens during my fav songs so it was quite pissing off.
but hey, we got prime $100 space man. haha.

after the concert i was literally feeling half deaf. haha. den we head banged so much until everyone's neck damn pain. den u noe ur neck pain u will oso feel headache one rite? yeah. tt's wad i'm feeling rite now.

but it was DAMN worth it!
